Probably some dude went to one of their restaurants, really liked his burger, and went out and bought the stock blindly.
I know nothing lol
thanks for reply fish. ic the yahoo board has been quiet there too. do you ever talk to netman? that guy either wants to kill himself or is going to be one rich man in the future. i hope it's the later (latter?) you have any inkling as to if and when tapcode becomes public? i know rawnoc said we can use these tapcode shares for wallpaper in our bathroom. please let him be wrong just one time. lol ( actually not funny at all, as i have waaaaaaaaaaay too much money involved in uwink. one of my all time worse 'investments'. ( unless of course, tapcode does come through for us one day in the not too distant future.
Did you make money on that? If not it means nothing.
I have both shares listed in my accounts so I'm assuming I still own them both
yep. stuck here pretty good ( or is it bad? lol) i hardly ever check this board. i just noticed some volume so i took a peek. pardon my ignorance but i STILL don't understand something regarding uwink. do we STILL own uwki if we never sold? i was under the impression that we are now owners of tapcode (tpcd)shares if and when they ever become public. if we owned shares of uwki, do we own tpcd AND STILL own uwki? anyone??????? tia.
I have no idea why this is happening. Could it have something to do with news on the spin-off shares? I don't see the connection... anyway... I don't gamble on what I don't understand.. interesting though..
Why now?
Why is this moving at all?
0.75 could come in a heartbeat with this tiny float, all we need is some good news.anybody else here still stuck with this turd?

Reality Gap’s Nolan Bushnell spills the beans about Battleswarm™: Field of Honor™ in USA Today
Seattle, WA - July 29, 2009 - Reality Gap co-founder Nolan Bushnell was interviewed in today's USA Today.
Michael Williams, CEO of Reality Gap, commented “Who better to leak out the existance of Battleswarm™ than the Father of the Interactive Entertainment Industry?"
Actually, the "leak" was planned. Battleswarm is expected to enter into Closed Beta next week and it should be in Open Beta very soon. Battleswarm pits a First-Person Shooter against a Real-Time Strategy, with groups of up to eight players playing both sides. We believe this is the first time these two genres have been pitted head-to-head!
Look for our announcement about the Closed Beta coming soon.

Atari co-founder returns to his roots
Bushnell is back with new company, game
Posted: Fri., Aug. 21, 2009, 1:12pm
Nolan Bushnell, considered by some the father of the vidgame biz, is returning to his roots.
The co-founder of Atari (and founder of the Chuck E Cheese restaurant chain), who hasn't been directly involved with traditional videogame development for 30 years, is back with a new company and game.
His firm, Reality Gap, is exploring a new economic model in games: developing a portable currency that can be used to buy in-game items such as weapons, armor and other upgrades in different titles.
Bushnell says the originality of the currency system was a large part of what drew him back into game development.
"My curse is I like to go where the innovations are," he says. "I like to go where things are emerging and are interesting to me. ... There can be an innovation in videogame graphics or game play, but the really interesting innovations are those in economic models."
Reality Gap's currency, called MetaTIX, can be used in two games. The bigger of the two is the recently launched "Battleswarm: Field of Honor," a free-to-play PC title that blends elements of first-person shooters and real-time strategy games. More titles are forthcoming.
After leaving Atari in 1979 following a dispute with Warner Communications (which bought the company in 1976), Bushnell served on the boards of several vidgame publishers but stayed away from hands-on work. Instead, he focused on ventures such as Chuck E Cheese and, more recently, uWink, a restaurant chain that centers on touchscreen ordering, games and video.
And though he hasn't had his name tied to a vidgame or game system for three decades, Bushnell balks at any suggestion that he walked away from the biz. He simply explored it from a non-traditional direction, he says.
"I don't feel like I've ever left," says Bushnell. "I feel like Chuck E Cheese was, in fact, a game experience. When we were designing the crawlways and things like that, it was like a live-action videogame. I perceive the interior of Chuck E Cheese to be a videogame."
While he focused on food venues, games began to evolve in a more violent and complex direction, alienating a significant part of their initial audience. But Bushnell's standing in the industry never faded.
"When Microsoft first brought out the Xbox 360, we talked a lot internally about how Atari was so successful in engaging the entire family," says Chris Donahue, a divisional president at inXile Entertainment and a former director with Microsoft. "If you look at Nolan's career and the things that he's done, his vision of gaming and the interactive entertainment medium has always been a broad, all-encompassing one."
Today, as the Wii lures lapsed gamers back to the medium and casual-themed online gaming portals (such as Pogo.com and Yahoo! Games) continue to grow, Bushnell believes the time is right to re-enter the fray.
He calls the titles that appeal to this sort of player "snacks."
"They're snacks of games," he says. "You can sit down and play for 10 minutes and that's fine. We find more and more, though, that people sit down to play for 10 minutes, then a couple hours later they finally walk away."
And though "Battleswarm" is more a full course than a snack, it's immaterial whether the masses embrace that particular title. As long as they find a Reality Gap game that appeals to them, Bushnell notes, it benefits his company.
Bushnell, it's clear, still knows how to play the game.
ends
See I was right that this was going to a penny.
I have never used Twitter. Can I use it to tell uWink that they suck?
what's with the recent volume? sells, buys, yet price never moves. anybody?
I think I still screwed it up.
ok.
1000 times.012 = $12.
200 times $12 = $240.
OK, well I hope he had some kind of package deal on his trades... because if he tries to get out at .02, he makes a whopping ...
$260. !!!
NO. $160. that is right. got it.
was that you today Netman? adding to your treasure trove of uWink shares? what is your plan... buy low at .012 and get that tax loss. cash by selling at .02? I recommended that back at .50/ .70.! Hope it works!!!!!
Not with the current price of gas at the pump. normally I would say that it is tennis/ beer seasons, but I am sans any kind of influence at present. Did I f___ it up?
let's see...
2 and 5 0's, carry the two... long division, I hate that..
same as 200 times 120.. 100 times 120 = 1200/// therefore//
200 times 120 = $2400!
OK, so I am out by one order of magnitude.. so what?
Tell you what why don't you make some kind of useful comment on the trading activity today.? What are you an actuary or something?
>> volume = 200k x .012 = $24k rotsa ruck.. <<
Still sucking down those gas fumes, huh?
interesting trading action today... 200k at .012 or something, then small volume up to .02 the rest of the day. So somebody bought a load low and now has to unload it for profit..
volume = 200k x .012 = $24k rotsa ruck..
we should be able to see how he does over the next little while..
Happy Father's Day!
This usually means "shuttering but not re-opening."
Buh bye..
they might have done some market research that points them to a different audience.the family/alcohol mix never seemed a good combination to me anyway.only problem is,the hospitality business is hanging on by its fingernails in general. on the other hand, the late night club scene here in san diego is doing well.perhaps they partnered with new investors? only question is:where to retire when this hits 7.00, tuscany,sedona...? lol
and whatever happened to the "testing ground" concept for new software....? what was the words they used... "showcase" restaurants? lol
IMO... don't see how this helps unless just change for the sake of change. Restaurants/ bars do that. New theme every 6 months. But by taking it "upscale" I would think they would lose some of the gaming crowd. And I thought there target market was younger than "upscale". If they go upscale, what is next... dancing? That does not seem to work in my mind... but then I have never set foot in a uWink, so what do I know.
try to google UWINK LOUNGE, you will find it at EATER LA.COM
I am curious, only because I followed this for so long. Where did you read it?
That would require new investment/ money, so there might be something in the works which impacts shareholders as well... although these shares are useless to anybody at this point anyway. Not only do they have no value, but they are difficult to trade.
interesting. Can you tell us more?
have read that they will be shuttering both locations for renovation. will be upscale lounges but will keep the electronic gaming/ordering theme to some degree.sorry,no link
I also show that. Interesting. ... Maybe something in the works...
Were there really 400k shares traded yesterday?
I found the Woodland Hills mall to be very busy at times. Movie theatre and tough finding parking when I went. Long waits at the other restaurants including uWink at times.
But that was 1-2 years ago so maybe with the economy and shambles the mall is dead too now and left to only movie theatre foot traffic? What a shame if that's the case.
Tapcode shares -- you can decorate your bathroom with them. They are worthless unless the company goes public with them or gets bought out or pays a dividend. And I wouldn't hold my breath and any of those 3.
The original site (Woodland Hills) is in a mall that
is deader than dead. I can't imagine much foot
traffic.
Question: Seriously, what the h-ll are we supposed
to do with these Tapcode shares? Will they ever
be worth more than the paper they are printed on?
Thanks.
exactly. I would think that the Google crowd would work by reference. Eiher it would get a name via the few who try it and it would become a magnet for the techies, or the first few would not like it and likewise kill it. Probably no amount of PR or advertising would help.
The other two, if they are relying on tourists or walk-in... that is different. They have a guaranted market, and if they piss the odd person off with poor customer service or machines that do not work it likely will not matter.
No idea. The Google crowd may have liked it, I have no idea, but they had to discover it first I'm guessing which would have taken time and $$$ to support the restaurant while the word of mouth builds. It's much easier IMO to have somebody walk by a location in a mall, stick their head in, get curious, then have a meal then have somebody actually drive to the location, park, and then poke in.
what about the Google crowd? they did not like it? what were the numbers like for the 3 locations? I can't find any financials by location anymore...
The Mt. View one was the worst location IMO -- the other two were located in places that attracted shoppers in general who would get hungry and discover uWink. The Mt. View one you had to drive to and park specifically to eat at uWink unlike the other two which automatically has tons of foot traffic walking by and noticing it.
how do you know that? that is interesting. I would have thought that the one that would have closed would be the original mall one. I Mt. View was doing OK.
Both open and holding their own.
I guess they ran out of money -- they said they had enough through April. The problem became after April.
Any idea if the other two uWinks are both still open?
Looks like we'll have to meet up at a different Castro St. restaurant, uWink Mt. View closed.
That makes no sense...
I think the point is that everyone has lots of 20's, so they do not have to give out change...
$4 a beer is not exactly giving away a beer.
I think everything is improving... The job market is not too bad. I know, I am in it.
Has anybody eaten at a uWink lately? Just curious...
Seems to be signs that the restaurant industry is improving FWIW.
I have , Thank You..
Have a nice day also... Be Happy
