Thank you! I've been trying to figure out how to to a print screen capture but once again I lost my cheat sheet notes!
Yes there is but just the fact that I have had 3 posts cancelled by clicking makes me think that there used to be one on top also.
I tend to do things by rote
dang...& here I thought we could say she was going crazy(er)
OK, what browser are you using? Aha! Must be IE - I just witched to IE and see what you're seeing - works fine in FireFox. Let me take a peek and see what's been changed that IE is barfing on.
check below the box vs above the box in preview - there is the submit button below the box on my screen
No, I didn't move any buttons. I checked Preview just now and I see a Submit, Cancel and Edit button above and below the previewed message.
Are you still missing the Submit button?
The bug in item #2 from #msg-29860535 is still not fixed. Regards, Dew
Did you move some buttons?
When I do a post and I don't want to preview it, the submit button is on the left and the cancel button is to the right of it.
If I do want to preview it, on the top there is a "cancel message" button on the left and an "edit message" button on the right but no submit button. Now it's on the bottom.
Twice today I hit the cancel button after previewing a message and I'm thinking that there used to be a submit button where the cancel button now is?
Thx Dave, figured it was a glitch and just brought it up to see if it was me or everybody.
That was a software glitch. Mea culpa.
Everyone's Mailbox count was being incremented twice every night at midnight for the past 2-3 days. It would get corrected on each user's first subsequent visit to the Mailbox.
Weird. It's not what I thought it was apparently. We're still looking in to it.
I'm sorted by name. It hasn't happened again, as far as I've noticed, since I posted that. Thanks.
My hat's off to resident genius who fixed the QuoteBoards so that Trades and Historical can now be accessed. Those two pages work flawlessly now, whereas they had been denied to my ornery browser pursuant to iHub 2.0 upgrade. Thanks!
These are my opinions and sentiments only. Take them for what they're worth. Do your DD. Buying stocks is risky!

THAT'S IT! I have my font size increased on my settings.....
When I changed it back to 100%, everything is fine.
Looks fine to me with IE7 and FireFox 3 at 1024x768 browser window size. Note that I'm saying browser window not screen resolution. If your screen resolution is 1024x768, your browser window needs to be maximized to be the same size.
Here's a site you can go to to determine what your browser window size is:
http://whatsmy.browsersize.com/
The numbers don't quite match up exactly but it will be close. My browser is set to 1024x768 (you can do this by going here):
http://setmy.browsersize.com/
The whatsmy site shows this for my browser:
Browser window width: 1016
Browser window height: 626
If you're close to that, things should display correctly for you unless you've increased your font sizes.
Nope. I'm using internet explorer. 1024 X 768
Still one line for me. Is your browser window smaller than 1024x768? If so, it will likely wrap.
Stripping it out of the message list was by design as I recall. The Manage pages haven't been redone yet.
How are your favorites sorted? Anything other than by name has some odd behavior at times.
You have to look at it on the board.
HERE: http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/board.aspx?board_id=4929&NextStart=175569
I'm not sure what you mean. When I looked at the message in the link you posted it was all on one line.
The <font color=> formatting directive no longer changes the color in the message list (although it does change the color when in moderators’ Manage mode).
Bug? A couple times, today, my favorite page has, let's say, 40 unread messages on a board and I click on the 40 Unread and get only the last message. I'd think they were all deleted if I didn't then click on the board name and see them.
Happened this morning with the Q&A Board and a little while ago with a stock specific board. On the regular version, not the beta version.
CODE? Anything you guys can do with the code to fix this problem?
When posting a message with a link at the end,
it takes up 2 or 3 lines on the boards.
EXAMPLE: http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=32590288
John,
I have three problems with the Acronym board Ibox:
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/board.aspx?board_id=5827
First, a lot of stuff I copy and pasted off of the internet is showing up in blue, and it's not a link.
I can't figure out how to make it black unless I remove it and retype it. I'll leave it blue before I do that.
Secondly, in the stuff I copy and pasted, some are showing as links, but if you click on them they don't work.
Third, The link to the user agreement I added to the bottom of the Ibox is not posting as a link.
HELLLPPP
LOL
Phil
that would be very cool...kinda like a delayed portfolio if one can run their cursor up the left side of one's FAVORITES over the tickers...
The quote stuff will be rolled into other pages and very likely Favorites. I expect that to be a conference call topic tomorrow.
ya know that little wave-ur-cursor-over-the ticker-on-the-BUZZ-CLOUD thingy & the delayed price pops up...any chance of having that feature such that when you wave your cursor over a stock specific board on your FAVORITES list where the ticker is displayed on the far left of the name of the board on your FAVORITES? That way, one can simply move the cursor down the list of tickers on the far left on your FAVORITES page & get all the quotes you want vs entering them in the SEARCH box, changing it to QUOTES & hitting GO. Catch my drift? lol
Thanks. That's great.
I bumped the font size up. If you look at it now, you'll probably need to press Ctrl-F5 to pull down the updated css. It will update by itself in a day or so.
is there any way the buzz cloud could be increased in size overall? I am having more trouble with my vision and the smallest fonts are getting hard to read. thanks.
To keep things in perspective we should note that, for the most part, iHub does a helluva job on the IT end.
I can’t say the same for some other websites; for instance, InvestorVillage was down for two whole days this week with server-related problems. This is an excerpt from their letter to users today:
>>
What Happened This Week
I was just as aggravated as many of you with the minor bugs that occurred as a result of the recent server upgrade. So naturally I pushed my tech team to fix everything that was broken. While my guys knocked out most of the bugs one by one over the past couple of weeks, eventually all this work caused them to hit a snag. Trying to find and fix that snag is what shut us down Wednesday and Thursday. In retrospect, it looks like I pushed too hard and too fast. While I could give you a song and dance about growing pains, etc., the bottom line is there's no excuse for having been down as long as we were. As Founder and CEO, the buck stops with me. Please accept my apologies.

FWIW
Agree strongly on the desirability of mailbox folder trees. It would also be helpful to be able to sort the display order of mailbox folders; currently, they are displayed in the order in which they were created, which is not especially helpful.
Suggestion: Folder tree
In the mailbox, it would be nice to see some sort of folder structure set up in a tree/node fashion, similar to... well, every other type of messaging system on major boards/applications.
It's a bit awkward to have to click "Manage/Open" and then select a folder from a page that looks a bit sloppily patched together. A little bit of CSS for a better flow, and perhaps some added functionality on the main Mailbox page would go a long way, IMO.
Two questions that I didn't see answered in the iBox:
- Are you guys looking for any developers?
- Is there any motivation to move the source to .Net?
I thought it was a nice thing for you guys to do and I can't post on the Q&A board so I posted it here. It probably would have been lost on the Q&A board anyway, it was a busy board this weekend.
Your name was the closest to the top on the message list.

To all who may be affected by Hurricanes Gustav and Hanna, be safe!
Did you intend this to be directed to me or did something screw up?
That's more a Matt question. I believe his criteria was it wouldn't default to quote until he was satisfied with how the quote page worked. I know he's getting close to having it the way he wants, but he hasn't asked for the search box to be changed back yet.
To those on the Gulf Coast, stay safe. Our thoughts are with you, your families and neighbors.
Very nice sentiment and I think most here feel the same way.
I also think that since there are so many people on IHUB that may be affected by Gustav that the mods should be a little considerate and lenient with regard to posts about the hurricane.
If we had friends in the area we would probably be calling to wish them well and since many of us have IHUB friends in the area, the only way we can wish them well is by posting.
Will the search box ever default to the quote?
I seem to remember that's the way it used to be.
That's a really old board, created before we added a creation date field. Since the field is empty, you see the default value for a date.
Is iHub v2.x not Y2K compliant? Or is my TRS-80 the problem?
OTOH, is SPAM really this old?

Thanks for your reply. I agree that this is more of a feature than a bug. The salient point is that, however you wish to characterize it, this bug/feature can be quite costly to user productivity.
It’s (IMO) worth trying to fix this if it can be done in a way that doesn’t unduly burden the system. Perhaps there’s a clever algorithm we haven’t thought of to accomplish the task. Regards, Dew
Dew:
I think the problem is not a bug, but rather something that would require a lot of code to change. As it is now, all they have to show is the number of posts on a board since the last one read. In order to eliminate ignores, it would have to go through every single poster who posts and then every single person they are ignored by and then adjust the number based on that. The amount of server space just for that one modification seems like it would be almost prohibitive to me... or as the big dogs say - it would cost a fortune.

Re: Annoying bug/feature pertaining to ignored posters
(This is not specifically a 2.0 issue.) The number of new posts for a given board on the My Favorite Boards page includes posts by ignored posters. As a consequence, when all of the new posts on a given board are by ignored posters, the result of chasing the link from the My Favorite Boards page to the board in question is seeing only old posts that one has already read. This process can happen over and over, as long as ignored posters continue to post on the board in question.
Can this be fixed?
o.k., maybe it is o.k. now. i did the cursor thing and tool bar lighted with color tools to work with.
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/edit_ibox.aspx?board_id=8092
i appreciate your help.
thank you.

Known Issues
Service Unavailable message - That's usually us restarting the webserver after a software update. We believe we have eliminated the causes for the unexpected outages. If you still experience the "Service Unavailable" at times other than when we have a site-message announcing one, please report it on this board.
Favorite Boards and People going to the wrong page - Sometimes clicking on the number of Unread Posts will take you to a post on the wrong board. If anyone is still experiencing this please report it here.
Favorite People - Free Users are getting a "You must subscribe" message when clicking new post counts. This wasn't really a bug - Free Members did not have a clickable link there before. We have temporarily made the "batch read new posts" available to Free Members.
Different page "formats" - Some pages like MailBox, the Moderator screens, and the pages for composing and posting messages have not been converted to the new format yet. They will be converted over the next several weeks.
Advanced Search - June 08, 2008 After one completes an advanced search that generates multiple screens of output, the next advanced search (e.g. by changing the year and leaving the other parameters unchanged) starts on whatever ordinal-numbered screen was last examined on the old search rather than resetting to the first screen of output for the new search. Pending investigation and resolution.
Error when creating folders - June 08, 2008 User received error when creating their 256th folder for filing posts. This is a system limitation, not an interface error. We will look at increasing the limitation.
Short list of posts on board.aspx - This occurs when there are deleted or filtered posts. Under investigation. Example: #board-5506
Wrong Favorites tab after marking Last Read The redirect is not honoring the user config selection. Under review.
iBox Editor - Requests to enable the following tools: Fonts: size, typeface, and color., target specification on links. Status: Under review. Comment: Link Target specification (new tab or same tab) will be implemented on the next code update.
Helpful Hints
Helpful Hint #1 - Font Sizes - Any registered Member can adjust the font size on grid pages (Favorites, Boards, Hot Lists, etc.) and the font size of posts text by going to Tools >>> My Interface.
Helpful Hint #2 - Font weights - Do the fonts look thin or washed out to you? Please refer to: http://ihwiki.stocksite.com/index.php?title=ClearType
Helpful Hint #3 - Underlines in column headings What's that about, you ask? Click one. Click it again. It sorts the grid based on the values in that column, and the 2nd click reverses the sort order.
That's all for now...
