I prefer reality that actually makes sense.

Sorry, I have no idea WTF that means. I do know that in the real world, each generation of technology is judged on its own. It would be silly to claim that the airplane fails to cross oceans just because the Wright Brothers didn't have one that was able to on its first flight attempt.
