considering shareholders were claiming there was no way the BOD would hold an AGM without a deal, it actually bought them 3 months.

Knowing this companies penchant for doing everything possible to make it seem like they have a deal (last stages of money transfer blah blah blah), I think my interpretation of why they may have announced an AGM holds water.
