#48343 RE: joshuaeyu #48341

Hey "josh"- IMO the author has a view that correlates with mine and some on this message board although we're surely in the minority. I see his point, wherein STEIPP has a "play" to make and doesn't want to rock the boat.

FACT: APPLE's license is to use the Liquidmetal name and IP, sub-license the Liquidmetal name or make their own versions of LQMT alloys or ENGEL add-on with non-partners of LQMT.

That's entirely their option.

Admittedly, both Mr. Hipple and Mr. Steipp are "worried" that APPLE will go around them and work with NON-LQMT PARTNER mfgrs. APPLE could easily license them (China's FOXCONN ?) to use the joint IP and avoid paying any built-in royalty to MTRN.

The "thing" is, Mr. Cook seems intent on bringing a lot of APPLE mfg. back to the USA and avoid the FOXCONN labor troubles.

If APPLE doesn't go outside LQMT partner(s), then in my opinion LQMT gets a license / royalty payment from the partner(s) APPLE uses.

That is in the LM agreements with both MTRN and ENGEL.

I hope APPLE doesn't go around LM but it's clearly a concern.

Lastly, yes, APPLE has a lot of patents pending for LM use but that is NOT a 100% guarantee they will EVER use LM. Just sayin...
