That switch might ultimately prove to be a competitive threat (at least qualitatively/performance-wise to future LWLG 3rd Order product offerings - perhaps in a decade if it can get out of the lab. Tough for me to tell, but because metamaterials and gold are components, my initial thought is that it has to be too expensive to be practical, but I honestly do not have an answer.

University of Arizona did test Perkinamine NR several times I believe, as did Lehigh University, but all LWLG work on the optical switches / AOT / All Optical Router was initially done with CUNY professor Menon Vinod. Currently, its now in development with UCB.
