I am new to trading. Not a good one to ask. One thing I am learning: sometimes a chart can look really great/explosive--but do nothing: I think of GZFX preholiday--the chart was "unmistaking" upward then it did a nose dive. 2)then you have a stock like USXP and it seems to run by the sheer will of the people; and thirdly, when the mm's want to run a stock..they will.
In addtion to learning to read charts, I am also watching very closely how the mm's let a stock trade during the day. Like DNAG. The chart looked great. Bought in last week. But it doesn't move. The mm's "sit" on it, don't seem to let it run. So I sold it today, and jumped on the USXP wagon. "Go where the money" is going, is another thing I've learned....
