SJATTY

35.5/60 + .03 had better be the minimum number or we have trouble in paradise with our Japan licensees. It could be significantly higher from that base depending on NEC, Sharp and the rabbits contained in Fagan's hat. Pending issues without definitive answers are the following:

1. Nok and Samsung status as of May 13 CC.
2. Sharp 1997 technology renewal progress.
3. The results of the trials in Japan held in March and April covering the "863" patent and others.
4. The rights, duties and obligations of the companies involved in the B-CDMA dissolution.
5. Status of the indemnifier.
6. Progress with other TDMA/GSM manufacturers regarding past usage and licensing going forward.

Sjratty first quarter eps should be $.50 minimum. This could be higher depending on the treatment of certain items from the Ericy resolution. Two links to my recent projections as follows:

$0.31 minimum EPS

$34 million ERICY settlement
$3 million quartlery portion of ERICY '03-'04 License
$1.5 million ERICY annual license

Total $38.5 million

Less 1/4 of last year's expense (88/4=22)

Divided by about 54 million shares

= $0.31.

Now, if there are some unannounced rabbits to be pulled from the hat, especially if they are rabbits of a reccuring nature, then we see a stock price as high as $35.00, real soon.

If the EPS is less than $0.31, then look out below.

sjratty, I think the lack of responses to your poll of expected earnings for Q1 2003 is not too surprising. The exact number for any one quarter is irrelevant for a number of reasons. Even with GAAP rules IDCC has a wide amount of latitude when it comes to which quarter the revenues are recorded in. IDCC has a long history of reporting great earnings one or two quarters, getting everyones hopes up, only to see those revenues fall off sharply in the following quarters. The only thing that matter is the recurring royalty stream and without significant new licenses, that royalty stream will be coming to an end over the next few years.
