I can honestly only speculate. But if I ha to take a guess at it is say they're trying to either keep the door open for some of their buddies or they're covering their short position. Either way it's aggravating and they are not living up to their names as "market makers". If a stock is begging to go north it shouldn't be manipulated down. Aimho though
