I agree - while generally well-written the press releases often are vague and lacking important details.

For instance, the last one regarding the testing phase for the third prototype does not make it clear that the third prototype actually is finished. The title of the PR sounds like it is completed but the details include this statement:

"It is very exciting to enter the final phase of the fabrication of third generation prototype of our powerful new solar cell," said Jim Nelson, CEO of Solar3D.

I would much prefer something to the effect of a firm statement indicating that the third-generation prototype has been completed and delivered to NREL for third-party testing and validation.

I wanted to analyze the releases in depth. I was hunting for anything that I could grab onto as a solid red flag because I admit, I was a bit worried about their vagueness... And they are all just as vague, but when you read through them as I have you can feel the continuity and really get a sense for the accomplishments the last few years have brought them. I didn't find any red flags, I only found well worded progress reports that did indeed show them meeting milestone after milestone, year after year. I too would love more detailed info, hopefully as the company moves forward we will get more definitive timetables and facts.
