Samsung Reportedly Drops Out of Apple's A8 Chip Production Over Low Yields

Don't forget that Samsung was among the foundries using Gate-First as a means to achieve High-K / Metal Gate, while TSMC and Intel used Gate-Last. It's possible that Samsung may still be having issues scaling Gate-First to 20nm, and do not yet have a backup plan to transition to Gate-Last.

Great news for Intel, if true. It could mean Samsung's yield problems are just the beginning....
