Unfortunately, as is clearly stated in the PR, the new 105 alloy is ready for sale. This means that both the genesis of 105 and its development is well within the capture period which expires this February.
You see, intellectual property is not just relegated to a patent approved nor even pat pending nor even patent applied for. It needs only to be in development. And Apple has access to all of that since it has fallen within the several capture periods since the Aug 2010 MTA.
Now, as soon as the current capture period expires (perhaps it did on the 5th, I am not sure, but certainly by end of February, any idea which comes to fruition as IP after current capture period, then, and only then, is LQMT protected from sharing anything with ANYBODY including Apple.
I hope this is clearer to you now.
PS It is clearly stated in the PR that LQMT in conjunction with Materion developed this IP. This is not the first time, by the way, that LQMT Steipp has mentioned 105. He mentioned it very early in his presidency, even before Materion became a partner.
So all this goes to re-inforce what I said above. This is IP available under the TTA to Apple for no charge.
