Can you show us in actual numbers how much E-sign and Srambls are draining from Wave System's bank account.

You guys are good at "speculation". How about some hard numbers.

wave strategy - hi cypher,

not quite your timeline, but solms has been cutting out the dead wood and trying to find uses for wave's software infrastructure.

sprague removal - yes.
scrambls - apparently mothballed
esign - sold for actual money!!
headcount - reduced significantly
strategy - refocussed towards vsc in search for a viable revenue stream

it isn't much different from what you have recommended, no?

but you are maintaining a negative attitude towards solms. apart from the timeline, don't quite get it.
