I'm in Canada and use Qtrade which is a Canadian Brokerage...I've seen trading before the r/s was announced but it was very low volume so I suspect it was someone who knows insiders...sometimes when there are reverse splits there sometimes follows mergers or buy outs...I suspect the sudden r/s was for a good reason and not just to get the stock numbers down..we'll just have to wait and see.

Don't be concerned with the prices being quoted while the conversion is taking place. Once all shares are distributed and the "D" is removed from the ticker it will start trading based on the after-split price. It's common to see this happening when these splits occur on the OTC.
I've been lucky enough to experience these types of splits before (sarcasm). One worked in my favor with the stock actually cutting me a profit and the other one was a complete disaster. The key to seeing any success with this stock after the split will be based on whether or not there is any positive news being reported with events to look forward to (hopefully a buyout or maybe a change to management). If the split occurred only to make the share price more appealing to investors, this will go down the same road to a dead end in the trip 0's.
