the status quo "MENS" was aghast that QCOM got their foot in the door and then opened it wide so that many other manufacturers could use their R&D. They fought it tooth and nail…and I'm sure didn't want to see it happen again…or at least to the same extent. Now most are OK (not happy, but OK) with letting Q continue to commit billions each year to R&D and keep increasing value to the components and the technologies they want to use.
