#59527 RE: Texbanker #59525

Thanks. But BigBake is on very solid ground with his facts and his analysis of the risk involved in investing in reefer stocks is spot on....it's way too early for someone like me to roll those dice. It's just that we don't all share the same tolerance for risk.

I saw something yesterday that got my attention though, but first I need to say this.....Don't buy Medbox.
That said, there were a few links on that board that showed how things are changing. They are three separate links to Applications filed to operate marijuana dispensaries in the State of Massachusetts and the documents look very real.
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=96930791

The applications required an accompanying check for $30,000, an assurance that the $50,000 fee for something called a provisional certificate of registration would be paid if granted and proof in the form of bank statements and vouchers from bank personnel that each of the applicants (there were two, one was filing for two locations) had at least $500,000 in cash on deposit and available per application. The applicants proved cash balances of $1,000,000 and $1,500,000 respectively.
Also attached were copies of the original leases taken out by Medbox and their assignments to the applicants, extensive CV's of the applicants, details of the premises, short and medium term capital budgets, copies of by-laws and detailed timelines that show when the first seeds are to be planted and when the doors will open to customers. 90+ pages each of what appears to represent the very serious intentions of a few well-capitalized individuals.

So, in spite of the real, practical and reasonable concerns expressed by BigBake, some people are moving forward. Apparently they aren't concerned that the Feds will make it impossible to do something that Massachusetts says that they can. It's a big bet. But you know what they say about the early bird.

I'm with BigBake, though....the level of risk isn't for me. And Medbox probably isn't for anybody, for lots of reasons.
