shallowmind and hrbart, that might be a good idea (pricing the options above market), but InterDigital's option plan is already approved and in place. The InterDigital plan (and most others) prices the option at the market price at the time of grant.

I think Amazon.com has come up with a new plan that accomplishes what you are suggesting.

hrbart: I can just see it now......IDCC goes along with that program and options are given out at 10% above the strike price. Well the stock spikes for whatever reason and goes up 11% or more and some of the options get sold by those that were granted them.....

Can you imagine the shitfit on this board if the stock dropped back after those transactions were reported. Talk about making things worse and not better.
