Question...Is essential IDCC IPR embedded in the TD-SCDMA standard?

the IDCC pilot channel helps "control" the downlink communication between all five standards. without a common link between the five standards, there could be no interoperability; with it you can achieve communication between and among standards. so, TD-SCDMA utilizes the same interoperability as WCDMA and CDMA2000 - IDCC's developed method and ITU approved proposal.

think of the pilot channel as the means by which all communication between standards are broken down to their lowest common denominator - so that, based on this common derivative, quick transfer (interchange) of data can occur.

Learning2Vest,

Time for Irwin to call a huddle with his licensed customers and figure out what to do next.

Rate concessions on CDMA2000 by Qualcomm in exchange for limiting the scope of the indemnification in those license agreements seems logical, but one never knows,

The rate concessions would have to be the amount that the customers are paying IDCC. If the leading wireless company is willing to do that, no more indemnification issue.

I think it is a very minor issue for IDCC but if IDCC decided to make it a major issue, then it will become a major issue for the leading wireless company.

" we believe to be essential to 3G, including CDMA 2000, or all of the inventions which we believe will be essential and which are contained in pending patent applications."
