I don't believe anyone on this board is implying that Sr-82 is obsolete. The major point is that Positron has thus far failed to capitalize on this incredible opportunity ("to be the leader in PET"). Nobody knows or can predict the lifecycle of any product. There is always someone out there developing something better.
If Positron doesn't get their crap into gear, they will allow other opportunistic manufacturers to establish market share. The fact is we have no idea what is in the works ... there may be some other manufacturer getting ready to launch a new facility as we speak. The Sr-82 market is not holding its breath awaiting the launch of Positron products. They essentially have nothing new to offer ... hopefully just more of it.
And let's not forget the SEC problem that remains to be resolved.

You are still getting your monthly generator from Bracco, right Robert?

IMO, PET imaging using RB-82 generators is a technology that has been waiting and is ready to take off. Unfortunately we have to wait for Draximage, since Bracco has dropped the ball and hasn't bothered to pick it up.

Bracco has created the industry but you seem to feel comfortable saying that they dropped the ball? Fortunately for you Bracco provides the generator that allows you to provide the most advanced care for your patients, right? I bet if you want to give up your monthly generator there are many that would love to have it.

If you take a look at Bracco's portfolio you will see that Rubidium is not their main offering by far. I am guessing that Bracco, like the rest of the industry was hoping that Positron would come through with the 70 mEv they proposed in 2011 to be operational next year to help with the supply issue, but we see how that pie in the sky announcement(like many others) has materialized.

I was fortunate enough to be in a meeting with DraxImage and industry leaders at the most recent ASNC and they are confident they can increase generator opportunities at some point in 2014 and the industry certainly hopes so.

In the mean time I look forward to the revenues Positron has promised in Feb this year from isotope sales. Let's see how that works out.
