Hey buddy, them knee high boots are Snake boots. Texas, especially down here in South Texas (Muy Grand Country) has Diamondback Rattlers as big around as your leg & 6'-7' long. One of them muthers strikes your leg you'll get smacked down big time. Most of the time we don't wear them (Too Hot!) but, do so when going into thick brush and cactus after Big 300-700# Wild Ass Russian Boars. Most of the time we wear normal slip on leather work type boots. We all carry calf high rubber boots in our trucks for when going out into the fields after a rain. Down here most don't wear tie up type hunting boots but, we all have them in the closet for climbing, like in the hills & dales of the Southwest, and Mountains of the Northwest.
Don't know the type of terrain you & Pre will be hunting but, down here the brush is thick and if we don't wear anything else we do wear our pistola's! .44 Mag & .454 Casull's are the norm. Of course we mainly hunt hogs with pistols anyway. A fun hunt down here is to drop a "Newbie Greenhorn" hunter off with only a .22 revolver (And No Clothes). Can't tell if it's the hunter or hogs doing all the squealin'!!! LOL
