I am having trouble sleeping at night in anticipation of this hunt. I get to be involved with at least three hunts. Four if Pre takes two pigs. Being as my license is good for the year I might decide to go back down again later this year for another pig myself.

I am not too afraid. My grandparents owned a farm in Estacada. I have had much farm experience. Pigs are mean animals and I ran from many a "600lb tamed farm pig" I used to provoke the pigs and the resident turkey till my pops beat my ass. That damn turkey was mean! Throw a kick at it and it would chase you everywhere. I slaughtered cows with my other grandfather in Redmond Oregon. We'd go around in a box truck shoot and skin them on the spot for the farmers. I raised 63 rabbits for food. Was able to go from live bunny to oven ready in ten minutes. Butchering the goats took longer… I have killed many an animal. I think that is why I want to take a wild boar and brown bear. I want the excitement of having my life on the line for my food!

Now about those city slicker boots...Don't you think my Rockies will be sufficient? You can find them in a Cabelas catalog for a look-see. I see all the hunting shows for wild boar and all the hunters, including the Texas hunters, are wearing knee high rubber boots. How protective are they vs. 4-7 inch tusks??? I am trying to decide if I should go buy a pair or not…
