With all these patents...there has to be a heck of a lot going on that we don't know about. We're only hearing bits and pieces. This all is "game changing" for the whole world in Metallurgy. Amazing things are coming....

This concept is not new.

It came to be from the initial experiments of a Cal Tech student named Christopher Veazey while working in the lab at Cal Tech who discovered what he named "bubbleloy". Much was discussed at the time how this could be a shock absorber, a filler between sheets of metal somewhat like corrugated cardboard.

I imagine that Materion will have great interest in developing this further in their new division created after the acquisition of the British aerospace materials supplier.
