the telecoms have a tit-for-tat relationship with the NSA so they'll get their way. And they own Congress as one of the big 3 ownership groups: Wall Street, Big Pharma, and telecom.

Because the NSA needs access they'll always need "cooperation" from the telecoms and the telecoms will use this leverage to have their interests furthered. Trusted Computing looks more like a see-what-everybody-else-is-up-tp scheme than anything else.
