Interesting posit. Certainly, a possibility for intricate finishing steps like bonding the glass to the bezel of the cell phone or whatever. Look forward to Anax's reply.

How about this. Like you said, have the base created via injection, then have the components essentially sealed or welded inside via the laser process? It could be seamless and would protect the innards as apple would like to do. Maybe even waterproof??
