deal could very well be say $7 or $7.5, this may be why big whales have driven the price up so quickly as with less float to get shares count you want you pay asking price which keeps going up. It could be 5M shares well over $6 who knows.
When there is so much volume and price increase, companies seldom offer a bad offer at lower price than current trading price.
