Is there any information on what the issue is with Baytrail drivers for Android or Windows ? If that is actually the issue ? I have the impression, perhaps simplistic, that writing drivers is a job for a small team, and takes no more than weeks or months. Is there more to it than that ? Surely the specifications have been known since many months ago. I have written drivers for several devices, and they certainly don't take that long. BIOS can't take that long either. And there are companies that specialize in that.

I just don't know how Qualcomm or NVIDIA could out-execute Intel on getting a modern tablet chip on the market. I really hope we see some acceleration with Cherry Trail.

Qualcomm and Nvidia are much more established LP SoC vendors with lot more real-world(ie. selling) experience than Intel.

On the other hand, Intel has been over-promising and under-delivering for years.

The rule of the semiconductor industry has always been to expect products later than whatever they claim, and Intel is not exempt at all.

At least it seems we got the Windows segment back on track again, albeit still rough at this point.
