Unfortunately, I am starting to doubt that Apple will use LQMT in the iPhone 6. I am starting to believe we won't see it in Apple products until the iPhone 7 which is 3 years away. We better get some other industries to use this alloy soon!
We differ on the length of time it takes to turn an R&D effort into a government contract.
I do think this is promising. But so was KEP, and KEP is more than ten years into development.
What would be an interesting post, but which I do not have the time or interest to research, are the timelines of other Lockheed projects from R&D Start to Production Contract Award Finish that were under your proposed 7 years.
I am just saying that I think we have years to go before any award or meaning, when Liquidmetal is put into the field in full production for the EADS.
