without instuction....

I am also, obviously INCOMPETENT at conducting my own
research into such matters... :-D

Lastly, how is it possible that I have been retired & doing

This is silly. NTEK never promised they would be the only company producing 4k content or the only company that has a 4k streaming box. They said they were the first to offer 4k streaming, which they are, but never said they would be the only. So, this is a mute point if you ask me. No patents necessary...

My 2 cents worth for the moment...

You think a patent will actually prevent intellectual property (etc.) theft? If anything, patent trolls await the filing of patents which provides them with a perfect road map for the theft of intellectual property that they then take outside the U.S. where they use it to do with as they please without repercussions or they try and tweak it to get around U.S. Patent protection, in addition the time that it often takes to litigate such issues can be substantial. imo

My bet is on NTEK taking their own measures to protect their intellectual property with such things as encryption, etc. until such time it makes monetary and logistical sense to do otherwise. imo

If everyone could be doing what NTEK is doing, I suspect they would be. imo

While patents are something that can be advantageous, they are expensive to acquire and even more expensive to litigate against those who chose to infringe upon them if you can even find them (China, etc.). imo

The main advantage of getting a patent is the exclusivity, licensing and royalties monies, etc. and my impression is that they will be pricing their proprietary items low enough that it may not make monetary sense to steal and/or reproduce. imo

My friend I will post to you on Nov 30th and we will see where the pps is at that time vs. our current levels.

I can recant similar "sky is falling, get out before you lose all you're money" posts at .005 and .01.

I don't know what markets you have been trading in but I'm pretty pleased with the return this particular investment decision has delivered.

Are you talking about a nuvola patent? Wouldn't nvidia have already patented the Tegra 4 and aren't the nuvolas being built by nvidias manufacturer? Are you just "trying" to scare people? It not that scary. If you don't like it, take your money and move on. If you would like an answer ask the source, not an internet message board. What's your truth? What is it that made you post something with no facts or links to confirm any of it? Niko posts facts and links. That's a fact.

Patents are only one means of protection, and only for certain types of technology. Copyrights also provide protection for intellectual property, and are used to protect software, which in many cases, cannot be patented. There are many rules to patents, and you cannot patent technology that has already been used in commercial situations. There is plenty of protection offered for software that does not require patents.

All of that said, we have several patents in the works, however none of them are required for our 4K solutions, and we, and our IP counsel, are confident that we have taken the necessary steps to protect our 4K solutions.
