#15670 RE: wmjenkins3938 #15617

I hate discussing politics on MBs, but in this case feel it's appropriate, since it's not only going to affect me personally, but potentially Vascepa sales as well - it *has* occurred to me that the new health care rules may be responsible for various Medicare plans either being yanked or changed in my state. Only "good" thing I have seen is a max out of pocket limit being initiated - must be $6700, but plans get a pat on the head for having a lower $3400 limit - that's a big deal for me, as I routinely spend double the higher limit every year for health costs.

What I find rather odd is that my state is one of the richest in the country by per capita earnings - two of the counties, including mine, are in the top 10 in the nation - you'd think insurers would be flocking here instead of fleeing? What really ticks me off is that several UHC plans are *still* listed on the medicare.gov website despite the fact that they went bankrupt way back in March after the FDA raided them for Medicare fraud (they used to be my insurer). Right now I have no clue what's actually available, and the site won't get updated until the government shutdown is over. BAD TIMING!
