It makes sense as Girardi is not half bad and doesn't lose his temper that much except when it involves protecting Aroid from getting hit with a unintentional slow curve.
Girardi would be crazy to stay in NY as next year would be a bigger circus with even more problems. It will be Jeter's last year and he will be making his let's collect as many gifts as possible tour and Aroid will be gone but maybe not for the whole season and then Cano will probably be gone along with no closer and CC getting older and Petitte gone. It's a mess so why stat there and it will be Cashman's last year as well. Plus if he can bring a title to the Cubs wouldn't that be great.
