Yes, but they design them
like the 70's American automakers designed cars, "planned obsolescence". They count on their loyalty customers wanting the newest thing, so they nudge them along a little. It's worked, so far.

Maybe true, but apple knows it's target audience. A huge percentage of apple buyers know very little or nothing about computers, have no interest in how it works and would not know how to change anything if they had to. Apple customers like the cool looks and only care that it works when they want it to. Unlike Windows high percentage of users who build their own rigs, understand computers and want to change things to their own style and function. If I don't like something on a Windows computer, I have an opportunity to change it in most cases. Apple, you can only wait for the next upgrade.

Apple is mostly a closed system, not very user hardware, software configurable.
