Holy crap! Thanks for asking those questions, lit a light bulb in my thick skull - just did some gargling and discovered that Valtrex can cause severe liver stress and elevated enzymes! Makes total sense why my AST/ALT jumped from < 50 to >200, especially given that I've been taking it regularly for months now after developing tolerance to it's side effects - I also believe that increased liver stress is why my TGs jumped from < 200 to >400 *after* I switched to Vascepa in May. The bad news: it was REALLY helping to tamp down the EBV/CFS, now I have to stop to confirm it's the cause - CRAP! I sorta liked not having to sleep until noon every day from lack of energy.....

STS, it's possible if your docs started you on Valtrex to treat your chronic EBV, it may be "severe" enough to bump your inflamation markers. Chronic fatigue syndrome?
