I agree with BeDub on that one. This is a perishable item. It would be great to stock the shelves, then have the demand come running. But, if they get there and find product that is old, that probably wouldn't look too good for repeat buyers.

If you have the demand first, at least you could still sell via the website and also see if Walgreens sales pick up and how much, then you could get an idea of demand to measure the supply to create. That may be more cost effective, especially when cost of goods is such an issue.

Obviously the best solution would be to increase demand and supply in sync.

Also, and I'm in no way compairing Fuse to Apple, look how Apple did it. They created the demand for the iPhone long before it was even available. Look how that worked out. People see something they want and they will get it no matter what, it's humane nature.

Apple created a whole generation of iZombies who will wait in line at 5AM and sit there for 5 hours to get it. When the supply runs out, they pre order and get on waiting lists.

Fuse is not in that league, but good marketing will create a hype. Apple did just market a phone, they marketed it as a fashion statement.

I go to Walgreens or more likely Walmart when I need prescriptions. If I hear about a product and I care enough to seek it out, I might Google it, see its on Amazon or available at Walgreens or Golf Galaxy and make the trip for it locally if I have to get it now. It hasn't reached the point of being a checkout aisle product in terms of awareness -- especially at the current price point.

I still think the drop products in their current form are a "lifestyle" buy and I would guess Daymond John believes that too because that's his schtick. Its different, if not more effective or a better option. I also go back to the concept of portability. It's cheaper to store in large quantities than a palette of Gatorade and you can carry it on your person easily like a stick of gum.

The reach of one product will spur sales of the others as the BRAND AWARENESS is enhanced. I personally think Enerjel is the best of the bunch and given its effectiveness I would imagine some buyers would give the drops a chance on that basis alone.

Just my thoughts.
