Now now bro..there hasn't been much to talk about until that article....I'm sure GJH and FTM as well as Sunstar and other will chime in on the Programmed Cell Death vs Anti PS soon....

FTM in his very first post about them warned already that they are not the holy grail and pointed out some problems.

That should be sufficient.

However, since many of the side effects of those new category of immuno drugs are infections, with a lot of PS release, combining them with Bavi may make them less lethal and less weighting upon the patients through side effects.

That is why it is, in that context, important to have an upstream agent such as Bavi that makes sure that PS cannot disable the immune system (PS interacts with T cell receptors to achieve this and hence T cells become mild in their call for attacking the tumor in stead of aggressive). If Bavi binds with PS then PS cannot perform this immuno-suppresive function anymore (say the PS key doesn't fit the receptor keyhole of the T cell because Bavi dis-formed the key).

So the immune system fully activates, systemic level action, and the immune system will start working all over where PS is found (also the PS due to infections by using PD-1 and friends). Increase fevers will be the result at least.

If BPs (Roche, Merck and BMS) want to explore that path of combining a downstream and upstream agent then PPHM, as far we know, is the ONLY UPSTREAM agent available.

That, and just only that, is sufficient even if it doesn't work at all because we still have Bavi+Chemo/Radio and hopefully later Cotara to do the job.

Safe, low side effects and efficient! No messing with the DNA either!
