Kevi99 the flight mention in that article sounds different.Your article says sanswire sends "first high-altitude airship into the stratosphere" and "successfully flown its first two stratellites over the California desert".However the press release from military said "The flights took place at the Sanswire facility in Palmdale,"

IMO that article sounds like it is describing something other than the military viewing. The flights at the Sanswire facility sounds more confined. Also the article mentions the desert but not sure of where it is in relation to Palmdale.

Sanswire Networks has successfully flown its first two "stratellites" over the California desert. These high-altitude airships transmit wireless communications the way satellites do, but less expensively. Sanswire's goal is to let subscribers move freely around the country while maintaining a high-speed Internet connection. Using stratellites as the platform, it plans to offer voice, video, and data wireless services. Equipment manufacturers are said to be designing new wireless laptops that work with Sanswire's network, but the company hasn't yet announced any partners or when the new machines will be available.

below from gte pr:

"The flight consisted of two military prototypes of varied size, both of which were flown for the benefit of a number of approved senior military and national security officials. The flights took place at the Sanswire facility in Palmdale, California, on Nov. 15, 2005"
