But...but... shorters are EVIL EVIL EVIL people! I've been reading these boards for a while now, and according to all the posts, it's quite clear that shorters are the reason that every stock has ever had a red day.
If there were no shorters, all stocks would go up and up and up until they exploded in a glorious pop of unicorns, rainbows, and money.
