CTO Patrick Dodd, "This alternative cathode approach, which has been developed in paralell with our conventional approach, has proven INCREDIBLY EFFECTIVE. We are only in the early stages of exploring its ultimate potential." ........Some communication from company is needed. Do they, Noram Engineering, hold up Pilot plant design completion (15 weeks completion from March) while exploring this alternate approach thats only in its early stages ????

First I want to thank Ecomike for the private e-mail response,
I don't have private e-mail account so I can not response by that route.

My question than Ecomike, if the pilot plant is not a joint venture and will be built strictly by Mantra, a contract would have to exist between Mantra and Lafarge (to cover legal issues, safety issues, plans to tie into Lafarge system, etc), why is there no mention of any formal agreements or announcements between the 2 companies if they are so close.

I am a strong believer in the tech and the business plan here.
But it's been three years for me wanting for this pilot plant, as a fellow scientist if you are still in the lab tweaking for are not out building.

That is indeed one of the main reasons for the delays, it meant they had to restart, start over on the construction designs. Nice to see others here have done their detailed DD homework and kept notes :-)

Results from this work, which is based on a novel cathode structure and material composition, show improvements in catalytic surface area, energy consumption, and pressure requirements.

The new cathodes exhibit a catalytic surface area to volume ratio of more than ten times that of previous designs, and have the potential to reach much higher values.

This dramatic increase in surface area will correspond to either a reduction in capital cost due to increased current density or a reduction in operating costs and energy consumption due to decreased voltage requirements. The cathodes further show excellent performance at atmospheric pressures and a significant reduction in pressure drop through the reactor. These reductions in pressure requirements will similarly ease design and operation and reduce corresponding costs.

That was a huge reduction in size and costs!!!
