In 2010, Chris was released from Polo Grounds Music and J Records after Unleashed was unsuccessful. He was planning on releasing his third studio album titled Showtime: Still 51/50 under his label Go Live Entertainment now known as 51/50 Entertainment and FyreHouse Entertainment.[citation needed]It will have guest appearances from Trae Tha Truth, Roscoe Dash, Game, Mystikal, Keyshia Cole, Lil Boosie, Tech N9ne, Lil Twist, Machine Gun Kelly, YG, Jacob Latimore, Cee Lo Green among others. This album indicates that Hurricane Chris is going back to his Louisiana Hardnest rapping style roots like his 1st album. But will be mixed with his 2nd album to balance things out. It will also include production from Shawty Redd, Phunk Dawg, DJ Spinz, 1500 or Nothin, Seven, Bangladesh, among others. To keep the faith in Lil Boosie, he plans to remaster two tracks from their past collaboration mixtape Category 7: A Bad Azz Hurricane. First, he'll remake Deebo, featuring Lil Boosie, along with a new verse from Chicago rapper Chief Keef for the album. Originally, the song featured Lil Quick. Then he'll remaster Money Money Money for the album as well.
On September 19, 2011, Chris and Z-Ro were in the studio together recording for the upcoming album.[7] On January 26, 2012, the release of his lead single, "Bend It Over".[8] Chris recently worked on a new record with Soulja Boy's artist John Boy titled "Ciroc" produced by Sherman Way (The Los Angeles Bakers) and "Astronaut" (also featuring Kayleb), which appeared on his GEEsH mixtape. In April 2012, Chris announced the album title had been changed to Return of the Hurricane. He will also be releasing a mixtape to promote the album titled Caniac.[9][10] An early tracklist was released in 2011.[11] Chris is rumored[citation needed] to be signing to Diddy's management label "Ciroc Entertainment" or Slip-n-Slide Records. The track featuring Z-Ro will be on his Caniac mixtape.
On January 2, 2013, Chris dropped his Caniac mixtape. It features five official music videos for "Ball Hard", "Go Crazy", "I Dont F*ck With Yall", "Down South", and "Pussy On Me". Lil Boosie and Chris are working on another mixtape to follow up Category 7: Bad Azz Hurricane, called Deep Down South hosted by DJ Iceburg.
