I have followed the daily trade of Vringo for a year now. I can't recall a single occasion that the price spiked higher on absolutely no news.

it has done so quite a few times actually.. the biggest was back in october when someone called Maureen winters posted a fake report that GOOG was about to settle. at that time the price spiked up to $5.80 if I recall correctly...

no doubt there are high frequency traders playing this stock as well as shorts and as soon as they detect a spike in volume they tend to kick into overdrive and push the stock even further.
