Hi Chas, the validity finding was a plus but not a market mover. As Postyle pointed out, a patent review and reaffirmation of a patent are the most likely outcome. Hence, it is much to do about nothing. Not to mention, the 420 patent has been referenced as prior art to as many as 100+ patents. It is a well tested dinosaur and the Google play was just a cheap Hail Mary in the end zone hoping someone would catch the ball.
The other thing that makes me skeptical that Friday's movement is that the USPTO news was out on Wednesday. There was a 4 million share day then on Thursday, the stock went down on a little higher than average volume. I do not believe that it took institutions 2 days then decide to go all in on Friday.
As I said before, Friday was the highest close in 7 months on the 3rd highest volume of the year. Weird anomaly or something in the works?
