Based on current models & data, chances of it being ineffective are very, very slim. Whether or not it is actually safe and at what levels is what needs to be established. That is only possible--when looking for efficacy and safety in humans--by conducting human trials.
If by some stroke of jaw-dropping misfortune trials are such that they must withdraw, they go back to the drawing board and start all over again.
Given what this treatment is however, I don't see that happening and am in for the duration.
