I feel for you....I suspect many were duped.
The truth is that any fair reading of the financial statements of EIGH (and CDIV) would have shown that there were probably never really any assets from which some could remain. They were badly flawed in the most elementary ways....columns didn't add to indicated totals.

It's not impossible to invest successfully in a company without reading their financial statements first, with a general idea of how they work, but it's probably a really bad idea.
