North40000, Sometimes the Stars Align. Biopharm had made the suggestion of the possible involvement of the BMGF and you saw the response. I remembered reading about their prior involvement with bavi, whether directly or indirectly and thought to aide bipharm with the info. More importantly, as I also posted, that foundation supports what ever the Gates Family happens to be interested in and Bill Gates knows about David and Goliath and how that could be applicable in the corporate world.

Prior to today, in fact many times since September's dose switching, I have thought this would be a good idea, but regretfully felt someone else surely would have considered this avenue and so I took no initiative.

Perhaps it may be too late in the game, but one never knows if something is truely possible until it is actually tried.

Certainly I can't see the harm in your sending a preliminary email to an old friend...

On the other hand, we all know that money talks and things find a way of being expedited to the affluent.

Whether an outright grant or an equity arrangement, I beleve this falls directly within the Gates family's interests, is for a very major cause towards humanity, besides being a situation of another David and Goliath that may also interest the Gates Family.

Hopefully you will find there is still sufficient time and interest. Good Luck to you!

north4000, this idea is worth exploring, why don't you or someone else with good writing skills send an email to the foundation. Most of what needs to be said is already in your post.

The advantage of a grant of several scores[hundreds?] millions $$ is, IMO, it would put added pressure on big Pharma or biotech to come to table sooner with larger bucks, for fear PPHM just might become capable of going it alone and big pharma/biotech would lose out. Good will would ensue to BMGF[a potential win/win], and BMGF could take an equity position, potentially recovering entire or multiples of original grant $$$. BMGF is a neutral source of money, and obviates calculating which partner[s] for PPHM to choose from, a process always fraught with difficulty. BMGF's forte is financing, not marketing, IMO. You and I differ there, perhaps.

North40000... I think your quote above sums it all up:

"...added pressure on Big Pharma or biotech to come to the table sooner with larger bucks, for fear PPHM just might become capable of going it alone and Big Pharma/biotech would lost out."

The one thing I didn't think about was possible grant money going to a "for profit" company, though I assumed they gave grant money out to "for profit" companies... so that I was not aware.

Glad to hear this possibility was brought to Peregrine at last years ASM... and if they haven't at least met with scientists..etc at BMGF, I would "seriously expect" all BMGS scientists to be "all in" once they did see the trial data that Peregrine can reveal ( especially after many more months of positive trending trial data since last Sept ).

I just think that many here know ... now is the time ... and giving any breathing room to a BP hopefully is not happening. I'm certain that a BP would try some delay tactics ... and as long as Peregrine stays a step ahead and always on the hunt for that partner, even in some out of the box fashion as with the BMGF.

I know the National Institute of Health was another option brought up here... link here but you can see there are 27 Institutes and Centers ... out of the many thousands of "politically connected" higher ups on each department, I seriously wonder if a paradigm shift within the political space of the NIH would be allowed ... on top of the paradigm shift in the oncology space with Bavituximab moving forward. I don't know... I just think the NIH would have too many political road blocks

The BMGF just may be? the "least" politically opposed idea of partnering or Grant of some sort with Peregrine and would certainly be a threat to Big Pharma and would make them make a deal sooner.

I emailed a long letter to "Transcelerate" months back and surprisingly did get an email back from the Director of Operations himself and he took notice of Bavituximab and I would say it put Bavituximab on his radar for sure and I'll track down that email and can see about posting his reply on here.

I just think the MOA with BAVI finally is getting noticed and all we need is one "sponsor" so to speak with Big Bucks and the least politically connected the better.
----------------------------------------------------------------

It would be interesting to find out how many hostpitals or sites that BMGF have relations with ? Because one reason to have a Big Pharma is their connections to sites for patient recruitment. Now, with BMGF.. if they have "many" relationships in order to recruit just as fast ... "AND" these institutions have received big $$$ from BMGF in the past and hopes of future $$$ from BMGF......well

Don't you think that would be a good incentive and positive working relationship with BMGF for that local hospital/site..etc ... to tell their patient:

"Yes sir/mam, we have a trial for "Bavituximab" that is backed by the BMGF"

"Yes sir/mam, we have a BMGF sponsored trial for "Bavituximab that would fit your diagnosis"

...... so yes North40000, please get that back to Peregrine : )

I really can't see 10 of the larger market cap Big Pharmas not stepping up to the plate to partner with Peregrine and if we get a few of them trying to out position one another... it will be an interesting summer.

GLTA!

what does

We work with partners to deliver proven tools—including vaccines, drugs, and diagnostics—as well as discover path-breaking new solutions that are affordable and reliable. Equally important is innovation .....

have to do with bavi/pphm
don't see how it uniquely applies to developing countries
