Boise has a great reputation. I've subscribed to Money Magazine for years and it consistently makes Money's various "best cities" lists - to live, to retire, to launch a business, etc. It makes a lot of other lsits, too, such as Forbes (best places to raise a family) and many others. For me, too cold, and too far from beach, but I wouldn't mind visiting. The northern Plains and Northwest are the two parts of the country I haven't visited (except Seattle).
