Has anyone noticed, after being on Vascepa, how potent ibuprofen is when taken as needed?

Well, yes, now that you mention it....as I've said before, I can't really tolerate ibuprofen much anymore.....injury to my toe is almost healed, injury to elbow only half way there....pretty sure the bones got rotated out of position again, at least partially, swelling/pain is still present....had to do some work in my basement yesterday, after an hour both elbows were aching like hell, took 200 mg gel cap of ibuprofen, and 3 hours later finished the job, somewhat amazed that except for some minor back stiffness and overall tiredness I was otherwise ok!

And the work I was doing is the kind that causes the most severe problems for me, doing things with my arms raised over my head holding tools and whatnot - was hot as hell here, A/C running almost full blast, discovered the new A/C air handler was leaking air like a sieve, had to tape/patch/insulate every joint/penetration I could found, which was dozens. Typically after a few hours of that kind of work my back would lock up so bad I could barely bend over (the opposite movement of what my body position had been, which was back arched with arms overhead). I usually would have to lay on the floor with my legs up on a chair for 15-20 mins to get my back and hips to relax and unlock, but yesterday a few simple stretches did the trick. Can't tell you folks how huge a deal that is for me!

BTW, that lay of the floor with legs up trick one of my PT's taught me is a wonderful technique, and not just for stiff backs - stimulates the lymphatic system too, and for reasons I don't understand my pulse usually drops from wherever to under 60. Cross one ankle over the opposite knee and gently move your knee forward and back to get the hip flexors and piriformis muscles to let go too, works like a charm!

Will...

Aspirin and Ibuprofen are prostaglandin inhibitors and work to block COX and/or LOX cell membrane receptors...Once they lock on this blocks the action of AA, but also blocks the action of EPA...So you wipe out the bad eicosanoid effects (pain, fever etc.) but you also wipe out the good effects of EPA...I suggest you do not take them if you are on Vascepa...
