The dollar fell to monthly lows against the euro and yen Thursday, as investors cheered optimistic comments from the European Central Bank while unwinding positions ahead of key U.S. economic data due out Friday.
The dollar fell to its lowest level against the yen since April 13 , losing some 3%. Against the euro, it gave up 1.5%, with the single currency rallying to $1.3306 , its strongest level since Feb 25 .
The greenback also gave up 1.2% against the Canadian dollar, and saw big losses against other major currencies.
