I have none of the other risk factors you mention...yet, anyway, but I am 76 and have been a T1 diabetic since 1957, diagnosed at age 19, fortunately. A non- statistically significant one- person sample, to be sure, but my PCP prescribed V, now dosed since April 1 off-label with 40 mg simvastatin.
