Net commercial position in the SP500 is NET SHORT. The net short position INCREASED last week from the week before by around 15%. You have to ADD the total postion in the SP500 big contract together with the total position in the SP500 E-mini (divided by 5) to get the NET POSITION

Where did you learn that? I never heard of anything like that. Most likely, the commercials on the SP and the Mini SP are totally different (apples and oranges) and the dollar values are not at all similar. I can not even begin to understand why larger commercial and international banks would trade the Mini SP - little bang for the buck.

I have traded futures since July, 2000, mostly the big SP and SP options, and I never have heard of anything like that. I have never looked at or considered the Mini SP.

If you can back it up with facts and references, please do so.
