#17048 RE: jfburk #17046

Gary/JFBurk,

I am afraid I started this thread (re: the Discovery/Jones) and would like to stop it.

In no way was Mr. Jones judged on his talents, worthiness, qualifications or importance to GTE/Sanswire in my original post.

It was only my opinion that he may not of been the best spokesperson for the job in the Discovery episode I watched.
We are all adults here I believe, and I was speaking from a business standpoint only. I do not know, nor have I every met Mr. Jones but from what I have read and seen in video clips he is very likable, intellectual and one of the most important players in the Sanswire Strat project.

All that being said I can't believe we are talking about this. In business you need the best person for the job and sometimes people differ in their opinions. My hope was that maybe someone as GlobeTel would hear my feedback and use it productively and not in a critical harmful way.

I will say at this point I will not respond to any more posts on the subject. Sorry Rock if I compromised the boards ingerity at all.

"I couldn't care less how Bob Jones speaks, but I do care what he does and right now things are looking great for our company. The political correctness has run amuck and has to stop."

COULD NOT agree with you more.

jfburk, I have been saying for the

longest time that there are 3 things that are mandatory for the success of GTE.

CREDIBILITY

ACCOUNTABILITY

PERFORMANCE

At one time you agreed on at least one of these as noted in your post below. For some reason you no longer say so. Why?

Here! Here, Gary. The same has been said about President Bush with many complaining about how he speaks. I couldn't care less how Bob Jones speaks, but I do care what he does and right now things are looking great for our company. The political correctness has run amuck and has to stop.

Performance matters, not rhetoric. Countries, the military, businesses are going to buy our product based upon the products' performance, not the rhetoric selling the product.
