It's sounding like IBIS World was more of a paid for marketing study by a group interested in promoting relaxation beverages by hyping up a market for it. Most of us knew that it wasn't going to catch on like energy drinks did. I can think of many ways of relaxing other than drinking some soda pop with melatonin. The real originals in the market are all failing.

Walmart will try and push anything. It's still a discount chain store.

Marley's is a very different market demographic and IMO no threat to the Koma Unwind brand. Perhaps it will help open up the category a bit!

Different market demographic! The brand doesn't appeal to me at all and I would not support my family drinking it either!

The Marley website implies it is run by much of the family including Bob's children. I was curious and did a few searches on the family starting with Bob, may he rest in peace! I know you guys like background on the principals of companies we discuss!

Here's a few items...

Dan Gainor is vice president of the conservative Media Research Center. He says he was looking at the products Hilco will sell and "wondering if they're going to include bongs and rolling papers." Gainor says that even if Bob Marley is scrubbed for public consumption, there's no way around the fact that his image promotes drug use. Did a few searches (not extensive by any means) on the family since they appear to all be in the business. Not sure if these children are in the business but there appears to be a common theme.
